Ted “Bear” Sizemore, Jr.
(January 21, 1938 – December 4, 2015)

Ted “Bear” Sizemore, 77, of Richmond, Ky. went to be with the Lord Friday. He was the widower of Patsy Kay Francis Sizemore (Morgan).

Ted was born January 21, 1938 in Manchester, Ky. He graduated from Madison Central High School with the class of 1957 and married his high school sweetheart, Kay, June 19, 1959.

Ted began his career at Robinson Tool and Die before becoming a superintendent at Square D Company. Later he was employed at Continental Metals and then built his own company Bear Service Co. He was a president of Kodiak Development Inc. and finished out his career as a builder and developer of various projects.

Ted was active in coaching youth baseball when his children were young and was a booster for little league baseball. In 1986, he was named “father of the year” by The Richmond Register. Ted had a great passion for showing horses and was associated with The Tennessee Walking Horse Association for several years. Many horse show awards were achieved by him and under his instruction.

Ted was known for having a deep love for family and an acceptance of all people. He had a heart for providing random acts of kindness and contributed to many charities.

In addition to his wife, Ted is preceded in death by a sister, Bobbi Keltner, a brother, Melvin Sizemore, and a great-grandson, Kellen Blake Sizemore. He is survived by a son, Marty Sizemore, and a daughter, La-Donna (Donnie) Weitkamp, both of Richmond. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Grace Weitkamp, and Anna and Maggie Sizemore, two grandsons, Curtis (Stephanie) Sizemore and Clay (Megan) Sizemore, two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Kennedy Sizemore, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oldham Roberts and Powell  with Pastor Virgil Grant officiating. Visitation is 5-9 Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff and Derrick Payne, Chris and Jason Morgan, Kevin Sizemore, and Bobby Huff.

The family is requesting donations be made to your chosen charity in lieu of flowers.
