The KWHA Extends their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of long time walking horse trainer and judge A.P. “Sonny” Holt. Holt was very familiar face on the KY Show Circuit, mostly being seen in center ring judging major shows such as the KY Celebration, Derby Classic, Owingsville Lions Club, and most recently the Richmond Fall Show.

Albert Price “Sonny” Holt, Jr., age 72, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, October 14, 2017, following a horse show in Cullman, Alabama.
Funeral services will be 6 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville, TN. Brother Steve Murphree will officiate.
The family will receive visitors 4-6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born June 23, 1945, in Athens, Alabama, to the late Albert Price and Katherine Bradford Holt. Sonny was a trainer of Tennessee Walking Horses and a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Hall of Fame. He was a faithful member of The New Beginnings Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his brother, Bill Hargraves and his life long friend and business partner Dr. Robert “Bob” Stringfellow.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Dennis Holt, of Shelbyville; a daughter, Megan Holt Seeman and her husband Jay Seeman; sons, Mike Cass, Greg Cass and his wife Francy Miranda Cass; grandchildren, Aeriella Seeman, Logan Cass, Reed Cass, Santi Cass, and Adrian Cass; an aunt, Bobi Potter, a brother, Steve Holt, a sister, Pat Hargraves Hill, and a niece, Jamie Walter.
Memorials may be made to the Tennessee Walking Hoses Trainers Association.
