Margaret Altom Obituary

Margaret Brown Collins Altom, 74, of Clark County, wife of David Wayne Altom since April 20, 1962, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at her home.  A native of Clark County, she was born January 11, 1940, to the late William Joseph “Joe” Collins and Mary Alice McCord Collins Epperson.  She was raised by her loving grandparents, Charles “C.B.” Bronston and Margaret Frances Brown McCord.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, co-owner with her husband of Way Mar Tack Shop for 41 years, member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Association, and Kentucky Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary.  Margaret also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Daniel Wayne “Dan” Altom (Tracy Caldwell) of Covington, daughter, Margaret Frances Altom Welch (Mickey) of Winchester, step-son, David Warren Altom (Sandra), of Frankfort, and one grandchild, Sean Altom (Stephanie) of Lawrenceburg, sisters, Lucille Epperson Rainey (Bobby) of Winchester, JoAnne Collins Lorensen (Len), of Black Mountain, NC., Lisa Collins Jones (Curtis) of Fayette, KY., and brother, Tom Collins of Paris, KY. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 31, at 2pm at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester, Ky with Rev. Jeff Wood presiding.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11am until the hour of services.  Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Dr., Winchester, KY 40391.
