Marjorie Layne Pope Grigson, age 90, passed away on December 7, 2024, at her home. She was born on February 11, 1934 in Brooksville, KY, to the late Swinford Insko Pope and Alice Bradford Casey Pope. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wendell Jacobs Grigson; a brother, Linwood Pope; and a sister, Norma Pope Zoz.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Danny (Linda) Grigson, Mike Grigson; two daughters, Diane Holbrook, Sherry (Jamie) Eubanks; a sister, Sue Pope, grandchildren, Jennifer Stamper, David Grigson, Wes Holbrook, Casey Holbrook, Alexa Eubanks, Olivia Eubanks, Kayla Lucus, Cody Grigson, Nathan Grigson, Matthew Grigson; and ten great grandchildren.
Marjorie was a member of the Milford Homemakers, a Milford Christian Church choir member and a Sunday School teacher. . . she was very active within her church. Marjorie was a loving mother and homemaker. She was also the previous owner of Milford Grigson’s Grocery, and a lifetime dairy and tobacco farmer. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Services for Marjorie will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Milford Christian Church. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. the evening prior on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Ware Funeral Home. Bro. Michael Cannon will preside over services and burial will follow in Bracken Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers for the Grigson family will be David Grigson, Wes Holbrook, Cody Grigson, Nathan Grigson, Matthew Grigson, Aaron Stamper, Jonathan Lucas and Holden Stamper.
