Obituary for Robert Wiley

Robert Glen Wiley, 72, husband of Gloria Carroll Wiley, died Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.

Born August 27, 1942, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Carl and the late Mary Mae (Rose) Wiley.He was owner of the Stenotype Institute in Jacksonville, FL, a private post-secondary school, was a former Councilman & Mayor of Painstville, KY, was a 1960 graduate of Painstville High School, and attended Morehead State Univ.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer (Cloman) Turner of Macclenny, FL; three sons, Carl (Nora) McGowan of Pearson, GA, Robert (Jennifer) Wiley II of Danville, KY, Travis (Jamie) Wiley of Danville, KY; three sisters, Charlene (Bob) Burchett, Roberta (Glen Mac) Dixon, and Nell Ruth (Bill) Conley; two brothers, Paul (Ann) Wiley and Virgil Wiley; Half Brother, Gene (Irene) Hunts; Half Sisters, Jewel (Joe) Tussey, Marie (Tom) Patrick, and Edith (Richard) Branham; six grandchildren, Ashley & Allison McGowan, Isabella Jude, Alexis Turner, Julia Wiley, and Robert Wiley III; step grandchildren, Cloman Turner II and Jacob Turner.

Funeral services 1 PM Thur., Nov 6, 2014, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will in Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, KY. Visit. After 6 PM Wed., Ransdell’s.Pallbearers: Travis Wiley, Robert Wiley, Carl McGowan, Cloman Turner, Ashley McGowan, and John Carroll. Honorary bearers: Bob Abrams, Ray Beech, Bob McQuerry, Danny Drury, Jeff Ward and Mike Goode.
