Susan Jane Carter, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016. She was born on June 7, 1945 in Anderson, IN to the late James and Virginia Carter. Susie was a 1963 graduate of Highland High School and worked as a bookkeeper for the Pacers organization for several years. She also worked full time as a Realtor from 1978 to 2011, working for F.C. Tucker, and retiring from Remax. Susie loved horses and was a member of the Tennessee Walking Club and the Kentucky Horse Association. She loved to show her own horses, Cut Choice Bandit and Big East. When she wasn’t with her horses, she could be found in the garden or enjoying time on the beach in Florida. Susie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Michael E. Parrish; sons, Douglas (Jackie) Parrish and Darren (Linda) Parrish; 6 grandchildren and their spouses; 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jay D. (Ellen) Carter; nieces, Hannah and Jessica Carter; great-niece, Bailey Waugh; and great-nephew, Brennen Waugh. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 4-7pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11am, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Hospital for Children or the American Lung Association.
