James “Toot” King Obituary

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of James “Toot” King.  This was just brought to our attention that we missed posting his obituary.  Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Toot.  Complete Obituary follows:

James “Toot”‘s Obituary

James L. “Toot” King, 83, of Shelbyville died Saturday, August 31, 2019 in Louisville.

He was a carpenter and was known as the “gutter man” of Shelby County.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.  He loved working with and trading walking horses.  He enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Jaxon and he loved UK basketball.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Kyle Wallace King and Barry King; his granddaughter, Cortney King; his parents, Lister and Anna Belle “Pop” Perry King.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathydean Wallace King, Shelbyville; his son, Danny King, Shelbyville; his grandsons, Jaxon King, Frankfort; Sean King, Simpsonville; granddaughter, Amanda King Purvis (John), Eminence; and his brother, Lister “JR” King (Vicki), Shelbyville.

A private family service was held at the family’s request.
