KWHA BANQUET WEEKEND JANUARY12-13, 2024

The Annual KentuckyWalking Horse Association Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, January 12th, and Saturday, January 13th, 2024. The banquet and meetings will be held at the Embassy Suites, located off Newtown Pike in Lexington, Kentucky.
The schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, January 12, 2024
*5:00-6:00 p.m. Social Hour/ Cash Bar
*6:00 p.m. Buffet Dinner
Immediately following dinner:
Introduction into Hall of Fame
Auction of Blue Book Pages
Presentation of High Point Awards

Saturday, January 13, 2024
*10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. KWHA Board Meeting
*10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. KWHA Ladies Meeting
*12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. KWHA Juvenile Aux Meeting

* 1:00 p.m. General Membership Meeting

A dinner form is included. The dinner will be $50.00 for adults and $25.00 for children 3-12 with children 2 & under eating free. Your check must accompany your reservation, but the check will not be deposited until January 16th. Every dinner reservation must be received by Saturday, January 6th. Any reservation received after January 6th accrues a $10 fee added to the cost. Cancellation must be received by Monday, January 8th to receive a refund.
Reservations for rooms can be made by calling Embassy Suites at 859-455-5000. Rooms will be $125 per night. To receive the discounted group rate, you must identify that you are with the Kentucky Walking Horse Association when you make your reservations. Reservations must be made prior to 4 p.m. December 13th. Your reservation includes breakfast the next morning at the hotel restaurant. Cancellation notice for rooms are 48 hours in advance.
A membership application for 2024 has been included. For 2024, a Family Membership is $35, and an Individual Membership is $25. To be eligible to vote at the General Membership Meeting, your 2024 membership must be paid by noon, Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Enclosed you will find ballots for the Annual Awards. To be counted, ballots must be postmarked by December 27th. Please note that for Horse Show of the Year, the Kentucky Celebration is not eligible.
The KWHA Ladies Auxiliary and the KWHA Juvenile Auxiliary will hold meetings on Saturday, January 13th. See above agenda for times of those meetings.
Any member wanting to run for the KWHA Board of Director’s can contact Terry Logan Lunsford. All names must be submitted by January 1st. To be eligible to run for the Board, 2024 Membership must be paid by noon on January 13, 2024.
The deadline to submit material for the 2024 Blue Book will be April 1, 2024. To ensure early distribution of the 2024 Blue Book, this deadline will be observed. Please note any pages or auction items purchased at the auction Friday, January 12, 2024, must be paid for that night.
The 50/50 drawing will be held again this year. Tickets for the 50/50 drawing can be purchased from any Board Member. NOTE: We will be having our Basket Auction Friday night. If you are interested in donating a basket or auction items, please contact Jacob West, Tina Moss-Goode, or Judy Rose.
